Although I've dabbled plenty in VGM covers in the past, it was Erich Beckmann who first turned me on to Dwelling of Duels, a monthly online videogame remix competition. Through DoD I met so many absolutely incredible, world-class musicians, who were awesome enough to collaborate with me. These tunes represent some of my favorite (and certainly the most licensable!) tunes from almost 2 years of competing. Enjoy! And if you like this album, be sure to check out the companion album of all the tracks I couldn't license too ;)

Special thanks: First, Allie Allen - always.
Second, Dr. Erich Beckmann, who not only introduced me to DoD, but has put in countless hours arranging, performing, mixing, mastering, and dealing with my incredibly annoying nitpicking for years now (!) Erich is an absolute star, and to say this album wouldn't exist without him is the understatement of the year.
Third, this album would not have been possible without the entire DoD community, whose constant support, feedback, and friendship has kept me going month after month. Extra special thanks to Austin Green (Katajun) for championing this album, and being just generally an awesome dude.
Fourth: Huge thanks to Sebastian Wolff and Jonathan Downing for invaluable help on the licensing side of things, Josh Pendlebury for encouraging and promoting the album, Sam Schwartz, Logan Tucker, Mike Doyle, Bert Keely, Noah Baerman, and my family (Jessie, Jacob, Mom and Dad) for for always listening and supporting my silly music stuff.
Lastly, special thanks to all my VGM friends of the last year that I performed or recorded with but haven't gotten on an album (yet): Kirby's Dream Band, B/I/R/T/H/D/A/Y, Tony Dickinson and the Tiberian Sons, Lacey Johnson, Ben Visini, Gene and Michelle Dreyband, the Super Soul Bros, and all the other MAGFest people. You inspire me daily and I am in awe of your talent.

This whole album is solid VGM gold from start to finish, but the Mario Land track is especially fun and the Chrono Trigger track gives me chills every time. Worth the price for just those alone. indietecher

Escape is an awesome collection of badass metal covers. The selection of source material is wonderful in itself. The instrumentation is tight and the compositions are heavy- especially the last leg of the album. I was caught off guard by the straight up hardcore breakdown in Highest Bidder. I especially dig moments where the bass cuts loose. Great stuff! Unicorn Hole

I really appreciate any album that breathes new life into these Zelda tracks while at the same encouraging me to totally chill out. I love the synthscapes here that you can just lose yourself in like a giant, warm blanket. Ian Martyn
