Thanks for reading these liner notes! Here's where I will be detailing the inspirations (and in some cases, insecurities) behind each composition.

I always struggle with the question "Who are your influences?" The question always feels like a pop quiz for hipness. For years, I learned Real Book tunes, but never really learned who had written them - they were just, like, songs. I'm trying to make up for that by showing my work in these liner notes. This tune, for example, is essentially a mash-up of "This I Dig of You" by Hank Mobley and "Killer Joe" by Benny Golson. The bassline is a dead giveaway. :)
